Donald John Trump, born in 1946, was president of the United States from 2017 to 2021, as well as a billionaire businessman and television presenter. Trump had spread false claims that he had in fact won the election and encouraged the crowd to march to the Capitol building. A Democratic-led congressional committee is investigating his involvement in the riot. Find our latest news and comment here.
