Donald John Trump, born in 1946, was president of the United States from 2017 to 2021, and is president-elect after beating Kamala Harris in the 2024 election. His first presidency was marked by drama and controversy. On 6 January 2021, supporters of Trump stormed Congress in an attempt to thwart the certification of Joe Biden’s victory in the presidential election the previous November.
