Several videos on YouTube have been removed by the Google-owned website after being flagged as spreading dangerous or misleading content by Press Gazette.
YouTube, which made $15bn in revenue in 2019, claims to have taken measures to crack down on its users posting fake news or hate speech, but Press Gazette identified multiple clips that did exactly that, with some having been left live for several weeks.
One video, which had been viewed more than 1.5m times, claimed that 5G internet is the root cause of coronavirus; another, which had been seen more than 80,000 times, featured an interview in which someone called for the execution of journalists.
