Wales has enough PPE stock to last “a few days“, says health minister

By Samuel Horti

Wales has enough supply of personal protective equipment to last healthcare workers “a few days”, the Welsh health minister has said.

Painting the stock level as a positive, Vaughan Gething told a press conference that Wales had been able to secure PPE from around the UK and abroad, but that he was not “complacent”.

“We’re not in a position to say we have weeks and weeks of advance stock on all of those items. And that’s why I’m certainly not at all complacent or blasé about where we are.

“Just because we’re not in the position England found itself in on the weekend, that does not mean there are no concerns here. There are very real concerns here in the government.”
