The New Statesman is looking for a hard-working, motivated and talented individual to join its award-winning politics team as political correspondent.

The ideal candidate should have:

  • A keen interest in and understanding of politics across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
  • The ability to write fast and clean copy.
  • Excellent research and investigative skills.
  • A good understanding of digital media and experience using social media.

The successful candidate would be expected to contribute regularly to our digital and print editions (including leader writing), and will report to the political editor.

The role would suit a recent entrant to journalism or a talented graduate.
