Yvette Cooper bests the Sun in an emoji rap battle

The Labour leadership candidate makes a late entry for sassiest contender.

It may be too late to swing the Labour leadership, but that hasn’t stopped Yvette Cooper making a late entry for sassiest candidate.

In a last bid to get out the vote, Cooper tweeted an emoji message to her supporters:

(Translated from under-25-speak, this reads “time is running out, we’re heading to the finish, vote now for Labour’s Yvette Cooper).

The real delight came, however, when the Sun decided to take a swipe.

They pithily tweeting “Oh god, there’s only a few hours left – what haven’t we tried?”
