In the light of Brexit, what can low income communities in the UK do to organise themselves to become more resilient and self sufficient?
The deadline is 17 October 2016. A first prize of £1,000 will be awarded to the winner. The runner-up will receive £500. The results will be announced at an awards reception in London in December (all those whose entries are shortlisted will be invited).
The winning essay will be published prominently in the New Statesman magazine and on our award-winning website at Christmas.
Entrants must be between 18 and 25 years of age.
