Stella Creasy reads out abusive emails in her final message to supporters

In a video shortly before voting ends, Stella Creasy responds to Labour members who are concerned at the number of emails they get by reading out some of her own.

By Stephen Bush

Stella Creasy has released a video message with a twist in her final message to Labour party voters before the end of voting.

The Walthamstow MP, who according to the polls trails the bookies’ favourite Tom Watson, shares the frustration of many members, who feel they have been inundated with emails throughout the long leadership election. She reads a handful of off-colour emails, including one which describes her as “posh totty” and another that claims she “looks like an egg”.

Ballots close on 10 September.
