The baby, which weighed 8lbs 6oz, was born at the private Lindo Wing of St Mary’s Hospital, Paddington, in London. The boy’s name will be announced “in due course”.
The news was announced via email to royal correspondents, and on an easel displayed outside Buckingham Palace.
