Boris turns the airwaves blue

Questions put to him over News International are "fucking bollocks", says London mayor.

By Alice Gribbin

Is Boris the last politician who needs better PR?

You’ve gotta get this on the air!

Those sponsorship figures – of which he’s so proud – will undoubtedly now be more widely heard.

Broadcast on the BBC’s lunchtime bulletin, and less than a month after he called rival Ken Livingstone a “fucking liar” during a row in a lift, Boris Johnson today accused journalist Tim Donovan of talking . . . a bit more than rubbish, about him and News International. The BBC London political editor has reported on Johnson’s attempts to make commercial deals with the Murdoch-owned publishing group at the same time it was being investigated by the Metropolitan police – the capital’s own force for which the mayor is responsible – over phone hacking.
