The News of the World in better days

As the 168-year-old Sunday paper appears on the shelves for the last time, here’s a reminder that it’s not only contemporary politicians who have courted the tabloids – although their predecessors might not have had quite such a cosy relationship. Aneurin Bevan, architect of the welfare state, appears in the below clip, a 16mm newsreel advert (date unknown):
