Conservatives

David Cameron will use a rally in Yorkshire to lay out his party’s plans on education, specifically policies that would allow parents, faith groups and charities to set up their own schools.

Liberal Democrats

After a day away from the campaign to spend time with his three boys, Nick Clegg is back and with an older generation. He will take part in a webchat for Saga, the “over-50s service provider”.

The media

Nick Clegg is* the main guest on The Andrew Marr Show (9.00am, BBC1). Meanwhile, Sky News hosts the second Scottish leaders’ debate (Sky News, 10.30am). It features Scottish First Minister and SNP leader Alex Salmond, Scottish Conservatives leader Annabel Goldie, Scottish Labour leader Iain Gray and Scottish Liberal Democrat leader Tavish Scott. Finally, Ukip leader Lord Pearson is on The Politics Show (BBC1, 2.00pm). The last time Jon Sopel interviewed Lord Pearson it produced this absolute gem. (*was, depending when you read this).

Away from the campaign

It’s the London Marathon – that’s a 26-mile run through the streets of the capital from Greenwich Park to finish line on the Mall.
