PRESS RELEASE No: 118/2014

HM GOVERNMENT OF GIBRALTAR

By New Statesman

Clearly, Mr Reyes is acutely embarrassed that he has given incorrect information to the leader of his party. HM Government of Gibraltar has double-checked with the GFA and today’s policy of official invitations to football matches is exactly the one that was in place during the previous Government’s time in office. In short, Mr Reyes has been caught out – and he knows it.

The crux of the matter is that the Leader of the Opposition is upset that he did not get an invitation to a football match. As a result he wrote to his party’s members firmly putting the blame on No 6 Convent Place.

Mr Reyes might wish to know that the Chief Minister did not learn of Mr Feetham’s gripe via the social media. He learned of it through the hugely inaccurate monthly newsletter which Mr Feetham sends to what he mistakenly thinks is a list of GSD supporters. Many people on this list are now supporters of the GSLP/Liberals and they immediately send copies of his diatribe straight to the Chief Minister.

So, instead of worrying about seats at the match, Mr Feetham should be more worried about losing seats in Parliament!
