Listen: Grayson Perry talks with John Humphrys about his Great White Male NS guest edit

Grayson Perry was on the Today show on Radio 4 this morning, talking to John Humphrys about his guest edit of the New Statesman this week, and his targetting of the “Great White Male”:

Humphrys: When I ask this question, I do so without prejudice. Why does it matter? I’m not saying it doesn’t!

Perry: Because they have a skewed view of the world. The middle class male thinks he has a monopoly on objectivity. He is the rational one and everyone else is somehow skewed. And of course what we found out during the great crash of 2008 was that animal spirits were adrenalised, young, mainly middle class men getting carried away with risk-taking and proving themselves to each other in their sort of baboon-like way, and completely screwing up the world economy.
