To herald the news that Rowan Williams, Archbishop of Canterbury, guest edited this week’s New Statesman magazine, The Staggers has compiled a list of the top Christian blogs from around the world that offer commentary, advice and analysis about Christianity.
And they are:
1. The Church Mouse Blog – The Church mouse sees and hears all, but being a mouse, he can’t speak. So he blogs.
Anglican blogger focusing on the interaction between Church-goers and non Church-goers. The Church Mouse professes to “see everything that’s going on in Church.” Posts on a range of contemporary issues, including Lady Gaga Theology and commentary on the BBC’s stance towards Christians. 6. The Resurgence – US based website seeking to popularise the Christian religion.
US based website that seeks to inform and connect believers around the world in the ultimate aim of popularising the Christian religion. Offers a wide variety of content, including advice about spiritual living and family relationships, as well as organising events and training sessions for missional ministry.
7. Archbishop Cranmer – Right-wing blogger pontificates on moral matters.
Right-wing UK blogger professing to examine “religio-political agendas with politico-religious objectives”. Offers a religious take on politics and current affairs. Recent posts include an analysis of David Cameron’s policy against Islamism and Mitt Romey’s 2012 White House bid.
8. Desiring God – Blog of US pastor John Piper.
God-centred resources from the Ministry of John Piper, pastor at the Bethlehem Baptist Church in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Most content centres around interpretation of Biblical Theology and practical advice for spiritual living.
9. Next Gener.Asian Church – American Asian Christians blogging about culture and religion.
A collaborative Blog discussing Asian and American culture and the Christian faith. Self-professed aim to bring together “writers from different ethnic Asian American backgrounds who have the common goal of seeing Jesus Christ magnified in our cultural contexts ”
10. Missionary Blogs – A collection of blogs from around the world.
A compilation of over 500 missionary bloggers from around the world, including Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe and The Americas.
