Jeremy Corbyn confronted in Westminster by unseated Labour MP

By Patrick Maguire

Mary Creagh, the unseated Labour MP for Wakefield, publicly confronted Jeremy Corbyn over the party’s disastrous election performance in Westminster on Tuesday afternoon.

Creagh, whose 2,176 majority was overturned by Tory Imran Ahmad-Khan, rowed with Corbyn in full view of onlookers in Portcullis House.

With the Labour leader due to face a meeting of his much-diminished parliamentary party at 6pm this evening, his clash with Creagh reflects the depth of anger towards the leadership on the Labour benches — and the sort of reception he can expect.
