“I run the show”: watch as a Lebanese TV presenter totally owns her sexist interviewee

"Shut up so I can talk".

By Media Mole

During a heated interview on Al-Jadeed TV, a pan-Arab broadcaster based in Lebanon, the presenter Rima Karaki absolutely destroyed her disrespectful interviewee.

As the London-based Islamist scholar she was interviewing completely lost it on air, she remained unruffled: “In this studio, I run the show”.

When Sheikh Hani Al-Siba’i aggressively told her to “shut up” after she interrupted him, she asked: “How can a respected sheikh like yourself tell a TV host to shut up?”

Siba’i hit back with the complaint that, “it’s beneath me to be interviewed by you, you are a woman who . . . ” but was silenced as Karaki deftly shut the interview down. “Either there is mutual respect or the conversation is over.”
