Save the Children is releasing a single to raise money for Syrian refugees. The song, a re-release of Help is Coming by Eighties Australian guitar band Crowded House (of Don’t Dream It’s Over fame), features a video introduction of Benedict Cumberbatch urging us to donate.

At the beginning of a short film made to accompany the single, Cumberbatch quotes Somali poet Warsan Shire’s poem Home:

“No one leaves home unless
home is the mouth of a shark
you only run for the border
when you see the whole city running as well

. . .

“You have to understand,
that no one puts their children in a boat
unless the water is safer than the land”
