When will Brexit results be announced? How the EU referendum polls will add up

Find out when the EU referendum results will be announced.

By Julia Rampen

The first EU referendum results were declared at midnight Friday. Between 3am-4am, it’s possible we’ll have the first clear idea of the eventual winner, and by 6am Friday the final count should be completed (although that might be optimistic).

To follow all the results, stick with the New Statesman EU referendum liveblog or see here for other ways to watch the Brexit results live so you can be right there when the Brexit results are announced.

So far, it’s not looking good for Remain. The Leave vote has been higher than expected in areas like Sunderland, while turnout in Remain areas such as Scotland has not been outstanding.

As the result becomes clearer, we’ll expect announcements from the Prime Minister, David Cameron, and from different campaign groups calling the result.
