University of Cambridge to hold all lectures online over the next academic year

By Samuel Horti

Students at the University of Cambridge will not attend any face-to-face lectures next year because of coronavirus.

Some small groups may be taught in person provided they follow social distancing guidance, the university said.

The university is the first in the UK to cancel all face-to-face lectures for the 2020-21 academic year. The University of Manchester has said its lectures will be online-only for the next term.

Universities have been told they must make it clear how they intend to teach courses from September before students make choices about which institution to attend.
