Coronavirus present in every African nation after Lesotho reports first case

By Samuel Horti

Lesotho, previously the last African nation untouched by the pandemic, has announced its first coronavirus case.

The patient is a Lesotho national who had returned from Saudi Arabia, where they were studying. They were one of 81 people tested after arriving from Saudi Arabia and South Africa last week.

Lesotho went into lockdown at the end of March to protect against the spread of the virus from South Africa, which completely surrounds the country and has more cases than any other African nation. Lesotho’s lockdown measures were loosened last week.
