US daily deaths now double UK, Spain and France combined

By Nicu Calcea

The US recorded 1,156 Covid-19 deaths yesterday, which is more than the reported totals for the UK, Spain and France combined.

Worldwide, the number of Covid-19 cases continues to fall. The number of deaths saw an expected post-weekend uptick on Monday, our coronavirus tracker shows.

The total number of cases is now at 4,117,502, with the number of confirmed Covid-19 deaths at 286,330.

The mortality rate in all the countries in our tracker is generally trending downwards. However, as lockdowns are eased in some capacity across the world, some fear we could see the numbers climb back up.
