As many as one in 17 care home residents may have died since outbreak began

As many as one in 17 care home residents may have died in just five weeks since the start of the Covid-19 outbreak, Nicu Calcea reports. New data released on 28 April showed that the number of care home deaths has gone beyond “alarming” and is becoming a national scandal.

That was before figures released today (29 April) by Public Health England showed that 29.1 per cent of all care homes in England had experienced an outbreak of Covid-19 this month.
