All the countries worst hit by the coronavirus outbreak – the US, Spain, Italy, France and the UK – have seen their number of daily deaths fall in the past seven days.
Our daily dashboard shows that the number of cases has risen above 2.6 million, but the number of new cases has been falling at a steady rate over the past week.
A further 6,443 deaths from Covid-19 were reported around the world yesterday. Spain and France were the only countries to see a slight uptick in deaths compared to the day before, although their trends still point downwards.
The total number of deaths in the US is now 46,583, almost the same as Italy and Spain combined.
