Retired psychiatrist. Now I paint and run – not at the same time.

Always. I just voted in Labour’s NEC election.

How long have you been a subscriber?

On and off since the 1990s.

What made you start?

I read it in the hospital library and was impressed.

Is the NS bug in the family?

Yes.

What pages do you flick to first?

Stephen Bush or the Leader.

Wales, or the shadow cabinet.

Kamala Harris.

With which political figure would you least like to be stuck in a lift?

Boris Johnson. The dislike is deep and visceral.

Angela Carter on Thatcher.
