The pandemic has necessitated the stimulation of national economic growth, but doing this in a way that is sustainable and resilient is critical. In order for net zero carbon emissions to become a reality, there are actions we can take which will create the right energy environment and, in doing so, create the jobs and investment that will deliver sustainable returns for the economy, people and communities. What are these strategies and what should the roadmap to a green recovery look like?

On 24 September, the New Statesman virtually convened its annual conference during Labour week, with a series of panel events, interviews and guest speeches from some of the Labour party’s most senior members, as well as business leaders and experts.
