As the world starts to rebuild and grow after lockdown, a green economy should be at the centre of our post-Covid-19 recovery. How do we ensure energy efficiency and smart energy systems are a key part of that recovery?
In July, the New Statesman hosted an online panel discussion and live Q&A, sponsored by Smart Energy GB. The event, chaired by New Statesman energy editor Philippa Nuttall Jones, brought together shadow minister for energy and the green new deal Alan Whitehead MP, Citizens Advice head of future energy services Dhara Vyas, National Grid ESO head of markets Kayte O’Neill and Smart Energy GB director of corporate affairs Robert Cheesewright. The panel explored the role that smart energy systems and smart meters play in reducing our carbon footprint and working towards net zero in a post-Covid world.
