By Samuel Horti

An editor in Myanmar has been jailed for two years after his news agency was accused of wrongly reporting a coronavirus death.

Zaw Ye Htet, chief editor of Dae Pyaw, was arrested on 13 April after his agency reported a Covid-19 death in the eastern state of Karen.

Today, his lawyer confirmed he had been sentenced to two years in jail, while his wife said the family would appeal the decision, AFP reported.
