All schools in Scotland will reopen from 11 August, with pupils learning via a “blended model” of in-school and at-home teaching, First Minister Nicola Sturgeon has said.
After revealing the Scottish government’s “road map” for leaving lockdown, Sturgeon said that teachers and other school staff will return to work in June to prepare classrooms for the new term.
The government will provide extra support for children going into their first year of primary or secondary school over the summer, she said.
The roadmap reveals that phase one of easing lockdown, set to start on Thursday, 28 May, will allow two households to meet up in small groups outside.
