David Miliband: Covid-19 will leave 35 million people hungry

New findings from the International Rescue Committee reveal the impact of the pandemic on the world's poor

A new report from the International Rescue Committee has revealed the impact of Covid-19 on the world’s poorest people.

President of the IRC and former UK Foreign Secretary, David Miliband, joins Emily Tamkin and Ido Vock on the World Review podcast to discuss the findings, and what they reveal about the impact of the pandemic on the global hunger crisis. They also discuss the role of multilateral talks in the handling of future global crises, the global Covid-19 vaccination programme and the latest developments in Israel and Gaza.

In You Ask Us, they take listener questions on whether it’s right to vaccinate teenagers in the rich world before elderly people in the developing world.
