Once you’ve read Samira Shackle’s interview with Nadine Gordimer, watch the clip below, which features the Nobel Prize laureate talking about coming of age during apartheid. She explains how her growing awareness of racism — and her own role within the system — drew her into the anti-apartheid struggle.
Next is a panel discussion from Jozi Book Fair titled, “Black Women in African Fiction”. The first speaker is Zukiswa Wanner, a young novelist based in Johannesburg, who also contributes to this week’s issue.
