Where does China stand on Russia’s war in Ukraine? With Bonny Lin

The China expert on how the country’s rivalry with the US is driving its support for Russia, and whether Beijing would consider supplying Moscow with military aid.

China has been walking a diplomatic tightrope in its response to Vladimir Putin’s war in Ukraine, caught between close ties with Russia and concerns about further straining relations with the West.

Katie Stallard is joined by Bonny Lin, the director of the China Power Project and senior fellow at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, to discuss China’s position in the conflict, and whether Beijing is beginning to adjust its approach. She also explains what the limits, if any, are to its support of Russia, and if its use of chemical weapons represents a red line.
