Conservative minister Tracey Crouch quits government over betting U-Turn

The Chatham and Aylesford MP has resigned.

By Stephen Bush

Tracey Crouch, the junior minister for culture media and sport, has resigned her ministerial post after the government delayed plans to reduce the maximum amount that can be wagered at Fixed Odds Betting Terminals (FOBTS) from £100 to £2.

Crouch, who won her Chatham and Aylesford seat from Labour in 2010, first became a minister in the culture department 2015 under David Cameron, a post she retained under Theresa May.
