The most British fight you’ve ever seen

A middle-aged publisher scraps with a man whose dog is wearing a sandwich board on Brighton seafront.

By New Statesman

Political blogger and former Conservative politician Iain Dale has tussled with an anti-nuclear protester who was attempting to disrupt a Daybreak interview with former Gordon Brown spin doctor Damian McBride. It’s unclear whether Dale, who published McBride’s memoir, or the activist Stuart Holmes (accompanied by his dog, also named Stuart) threw the first punch at the seafront in Brighton.

Mr Dale posted on his blog that he had noticed Holmes ruining the interview with McBride, and so like “any self respecting publisher”, he jumped out of the car and pulled Holmes out of shot. When Holmes resisted, according to Dale’s version of events, a fight ensued.
