Jennifer Lawrence: “Anybody who looked at those pictures, you’re perpetuating a sexual offence”

It isn’t just the hackers who stole her personal photos who are to blame, the actress says.

Jennifer Lawrence is Hollywood’s darling – an exalted position that means her every move and pronouncement is sifted for its true meaning.

But there won’t be any difficulty in working out what she wants to say in her cover interview with Vanity Fair.

Speaking about the iCloud hack that saw nude photos of her uploaded to the internet, she told the magazine that “It is not a scandal. It is a sex crime”.

It isn’t just the hackers who are to blame, she says:

Anybody who looked at those pictures, you’re perpetuating a sexual offence. You should cower with shame. Even people who I know and love say, ‘Oh, yeah, I looked at the pictures.’ I don’t want to get mad, but at the same time I’m thinking, I didn’t tell you that you could look at my naked body.”

The FBI are apparently on the case, but Lawrence is trying to put it behind her:

I’m not crying about it anymore. I can’t be angry anymore. I can’t have my happiness rest on these people being caught, because they might not be.”
