“I beg your pardon?” Ed Miliband’s radio gaffe where he doesn’t know who the local Labour leader is

The Labour leader appears to have no idea who the Swindon councillor is during a radio interview with BBC Wiltshire.

After Ed Miliband fluffed his answer when asked this morning how much his weekly shopping bill is, there have been further broadcast blues.

In a radio interview on BBC Wiltshire, Miliband was asked by presenter Ben Prater: “What do you make of Jim Grant?”

Jim Grant is Swindon Labour leader in a Conservative-led council, but Miliband clearly hadn’t done his research.

“I beg your pardon?” was his reply, which then led to an uncomfortable exchange, in which it appeared he had no clue who Grant was. At one point, he implores “You will enlighten me I am sure”.  Read the transcript of the interview here.
