James Blunt, the guitar-stroking softy, acid Twitter fiend, and most modern contribution to Cockney Rhyming Slang, has comprehensively taken down Chris Bryant, the Labour MP.
In a scathing response to comments in the Guardian by Bryant, calling for more diversity in the arts and decrying the proliferation of former public schoolboys, like Blunt and the actor Eddie Redmayne in the arts world, Blunt lashed out at Bryant’s “narrow-minded, self-defeating, lead-us-to-a-dead-end, remove-the-‘G’-from-‘GB’ thinking”.
